Head of Care
We are seeking a Head of Care, responsible for the overall Care standards and compliance for a medium sized Children’s Unit. Their mission is to create a secure yet nurturing space where young people can learn, grow, and build brighter futures.
You will lead and inspire a dedicated team, ensuring high-quality care and safeguarding standards. You will oversee care planning, staff development, and operational excellence, fostering a positive, therapeutic environment for young people
Responsibilities:
- Deputise for the Registered Manager, overseeing accommodation operations, strategic decisions, and on-call duties.
- Lead a multidisciplinary team (Care, Education, Health, Facilities) to ensure high-quality service delivery and benchmark performance within the secure accommodation network.
Qualifications:
- Level 5 management qualification and extensive leadership experience in children’s residential care, ideally in a secure setting.
- Qualified Social Worker with active Social Work England registration.
- Strong knowledge of youth justice, safeguarding, and legislation related to looked-after children and residential care.
- Proven experience handling risks related to offending behavior, self-harm, and safeguarding concerns.
