Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategic management of the local authority’s diverse property portfolio.
- Develop and implement property strategies that align with the council’s objectives and community needs.
- Oversee property acquisitions, disposals, leases, and development projects.
- Manage and optimize the performance of the property team, ensuring high standards of service delivery.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the council, including planning, legal, finance, and external partners.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and best practices in property management.
- Drive sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives within the property portfolio.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in property management, ideally within a local authority or public sector context.
- Proven track record of strategic leadership and delivering successful property projects.
- Strong understanding of property law, planning regulations, and public sector procurement.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to navigate complex challenges and drive positive change.
- Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., RICS) are highly desirable.
